October 16 is National Feral Cat Day

October 16, 2007

19,701 dogs and cats were euthanized in Chicago in 2006. Really. Think about 19,701 dogs and cats JUST in Chicago. And, that number is down from years past.

PLEASE Spay and Neuter. Please support TRAP, NEUTER and RETURN or TNR!

  • TNR stops reproduction and gradually reduces feral cat populations.
  • TNR improves and extends the lives of feral cats.
  • TNR is effective, humane, and does not cost much.
  • TNR is a proven plan that just makes good sense.

    “Clara” TNR

    September 22, 2007

Clara was feral and returned to live her (hopefully) happy and healthy life in Ukrainian Village in Chicago. She was spayed, ear tipped and given all her shots. We are looking for a caretaker to help us feed Clara and a couple other ferals regularly.Clara aka Boo1

    Why we return some kitties

    September 14, 2007

Older, unsocialized kitties take years to become friendly. Some never really seem happy indoors. If the kitties would prefer not to have human companionship – feeding them, keeping an eye on them and not letting them reproduce, is we believe, the most humane thing you can do. The numbers will go down once everyone is spayed and neutered and all will be healthier too. This is why we return some cats to where they were living once they are treated and spayed or neutered.
